KAMERYN'S BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISER FOR THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER

Hi everyone! This year, to celebrate my birthday I am asking you to donate to the Adult Learning Center.
I started working at the Adult Learning Center (ALC) in Baltimore during my freshman year in college. If you know me, then you know I get anxious over just about anything that involves people and talking, so I was extremely nervous going into my interview. However, as soon as I arrived I knew that this place was something special. The atmosphere was welcoming and everyone smiled like they knew me already. The actual interview lasted about 10 minutes before we started talking about life, my experiences at school so far, and the plans and goals of the ALC. I genuinely enjoyed every day of my two years working there.
For thirty years, the ALC has been offering tailored support to over 600 adults annually who are in need of basic education and English Language Literacy practice. In Baltimore, over 100,000 adults lack a high school diploma and 17,000 adults speak English less than "very well." Thanks to the ALC, learners have gone on to secure good jobs, improve their relationships with their families, tell their stories on stage to hundreds of people, and more!
The ALC has an extremely passionate staff that is dedicated to adult literacy, social justice and community enhancement. It is truly an institution functioning for the benefit of Baltimore. Please consider donating to this amazing place and supporting the work the ALC is doing for “Charm City”.
